Nicole just released a fun kit called “Soccer Time” available at Stuff to Scrap. I have never played soccer in my life—and I mean never. I don’t think I’ve even watched it before. In fact, now that I think of it, I think this kit is the closest I’ve ever been to a soccer ball!!
That being said, I had a blast designing with this kit. Something about the black and white soccer ball colors mixed with the bright paper colors resonated with me.
Nicole included so many fun elements with this kit that I was able to design this page in about 30 minutes. I’ll admit, it didn’t start as a Halloween page. In fact, I was trying to design a “soccer-themed” quick page, but once I finished the page it didn’t anything like a soccer page—it looked like a Halloween page. And I had the perfect Halloween picture for it! Goth Halloween from 2006. : )
So back to designing a soccer page. I was scared. Here I had tried to design a soccer page that turned out like a Halloween page. Not even close—unless of course, you dressed up as a soccer player for Halloween, but that was a pretty tall order for a quick page. (My sincerest apologies to the few people who may have actually benefited from the above page).
It was time to pull out the big guns. I needed to harken Caddyshack logic—“Be the ball Brandy,” I thought to myself.
I needed to think like a soccer player.
And then my iTunes shuffled to “All Fired Up” by Tralala (click here to listen to the song on YouTube)—“This is it!” I thought.
So there you have it—a half an hour later I designed what I would consider to be a punky soccer quick page available at Stuff to Scrap!
All this because of Tralala and Caddyshack—something I’m certain many of the kids who will eventually wind up on this page probably have never heard of!
Oh the irony! : )
