Nicole just released a fun kit called “Soccer Time” available at Stuff to Scrap. I have never played soccer in my life—and I mean never. I don’t think I’ve even watched it before. In fact, now that I think of it, I think this kit is the closest I’ve ever been to a soccer ball!!
That being said, I had a blast designing with this kit. Something about the black and white soccer ball colors mixed with the bright paper colors resonated with me.

Nicole included so many fun elements with this kit that I was able to design this page in about 30 minutes. I’ll admit, it didn’t start as a Halloween page. In fact, I was trying to design a “soccer-themed” quick page, but once I finished the page it didn’t anything like a soccer page—it looked like a Halloween page. And I had the perfect Halloween picture for it! Goth Halloween from 2006. : )
So back to designing a soccer page. I was scared. Here I had tried to design a soccer page that turned out like a Halloween page. Not even close—unless of course, you dressed up as a soccer player for Halloween, but that was a pretty tall order for a quick page. (My sincerest apologies to the few people who may have actually benefited from the above page).
It was time to pull out the big guns. I needed to harken Caddyshack logic—”Be the ball Brandy,” I thought to myself.
I needed to think like a soccer player.
And then my iTunes shuffled to “All Fired Up” by Tralala (click here to listen to the song on YouTube)—”This is it!” I thought.
So there you have it—a half an hour later I designed what I would consider to be a punky soccer quick page available at Stuff to Scrap!
All this because of Tralala and Caddyshack—something I’m certain many of the kids who will eventually wind up on this page probably have never heard of!
Oh the irony! : )
Nicole is releasing another fabulous kit called Tee Time available at Stuff to Scrap. You can get both the kit and the quick pages for $5.00—just use the coupon code GOLF. Awesome, eh?
So when if comes to golf, I’ll be the first to admit, I am not a golfer—only done it a few times and totally made up my score as a I went—but as far as Nicole’s kit goes, I still really enjoyed working with the muted tones! They’re perfect colors for the fall!

I decided to make a page about one of the wineries we visited out in Washington in 2007. Because hey, I don’t play golf—but I do drink wine! And I think I’m pretty good at it. ; )
I’m absolutely thrilled how this page turned out!

I also created a quick page available for purchase at Stuff to Scrap. Check it out! : )
Okay, this is what you’ve all been waiting for! Here’s my freebie quickpage!
I’ll admit it. Something about this kit made me think of babies—which is interesting considering the only kids I have walk around on four legs! Who knows, maybe it’s because I’m going to be an aunt again in a couple weeks, or that I’m turning the big 3-0 soon. ; )
At any rate, I hope you enjoy this freebie! I had a lot of fun making it—send me a comment if you enjoyed using it too. I’d love to hear from you!
Nicole just released a great freebie collab kit called Beautiful You. This kit has a lot of bright colors, TONS of embellishments and word art. There is also a great selection of solid and patterned papers!
Since this kit is named “Beautiful You” I wanted to make a page that was meaningful to me. Almost immediately, I thought back to a family trip we took with my husband’s family a few years back. These pictures remind me of the days before we built the house, got the dogs, and welcomed a nephew. I think we all knew deep down that this would be our last vacation before “the boys” (Jeremy and his brother) would start creating families of their own.
Long story short—mission accomplished. The page was exactly what I had in mind. : )

TFL!
Check out these adorable brushes Nicole made—just in time for Halloween! : )
It includes 4 .png files and 1 .abr (brush) set and they are on 30% off until Thursday! Check it out!
Nicole released another fantastic kit this week at Stuff to Scrap called Let Me Count the Ways. If you buy the kit, the quick-pages and the glitters, you can get them all for only $6.00 using coupon code LoVeLy (these are regularly priced at $9.97). Or, if you use the coupon code LOVE you can get the kit for $1.00 off the regular price. Both codes good for this month only.
When it comes to scrapbooking, I’m not much of a journaler so this new kit is a perfect way for lazy scrapbookers such as myself to capture information in lists rather than paragraphs. I enjoyed working with the variety of embellishments in this kit, not to mention the vibrant and balanced color combinations Nicole created—especially that dark gold. I must be attracted to this particular color because half of my house is painted with it. Three cheers for Tyler Taupe!
A few weeks back I took some great photos of Lola and Violet in the backyard (do you know how hard it is to get “candids” of a dog?!). Anyway, I thought it would be fun to use Nicole’s kit to make a list of what they do while we’re at work. I love how informal the doodles look in the picture on the right, so I decided to post the entire 2-page spread. : )
I also created a quickpage for the Let Me Count the Ways kit which is available at Stuff to Scrap. I like the monotone feel of this page, but couldn’t find a picture that would work (which is why it’s a quickpage).
As I was flipping through pictures from our March cruise yesterday, I discovered this photo of Jeremy in a yellow shirt. The photo works perfect for this page so I decided to use my quickpage, too. I guess we all win this week! : )
Thanks for looking! : )
Fun news! Nicole has created a great set of templates just released at Stuff to Scrap. : )
I think most designers have a soft spot for templates—and I am no exception. They take the hard work out of scrapping and let you focus on creativity. I particularily enjoyed working with these templates because I had six different versions to choose from!
Here’s my first design:
I decided to scrap a summer evening in our backyard…one of those days when it was too hot to take the dogs for a walk, but we needed them to burn off some energy. Enter: “the doodle pool”.
Lola and Violet had a great time splashing around in the pool (especially Violet!) and we had fun watching them.
Here is my second layout:
Jeremy and I decided it would be fun to spend a day volunteering at our beloved CSA farm to harvest vegetables. We showed up at 9 AM sharp eager to help. Farmer John asked us to pick potatoes and without hesitation we said “sure!”.
Unbeknownst to us, these weren’t just any potatoes—we wound up picking these small, dark purple potatoes that broke from the plant when you tried to pick them. Like archaeologists, we combed the soil for anything. For a while, Jeremy and I thought we were the worst volunteer CSA farmers ever and that Farmer John would never ask us back because we had left half of his potatoes in the ground!
Determined to find at least a few potatoes per plant, we dug—and I mean really dug.
Farmer John told us the potatoes would be close to the surface, but when we didn’t find any potatoes, we decided to dig at least a foot down in the soil.
As it turned out, a few of these particular potatoes had already been harvested, so in the end it wasn’t us! To illustrate our incredible search, I decided to “show” some of the various objects we found whilst harvesting our potatoes.
And for the record, we actually did end up harvesting at least 100lbs. or so of spuds—the best potatoes I think either of us had ever ate in our entire lives. : )
Nicole just created a fun kit “A Cherry on Top”. I love the vibrant colors of this kit—and of course the chubby birds Nicole included. : )
In addition to the fantastic page colors, there are also a lot of great embellishments–especially the white border stitching.
Here’s the quickpage I created for this kit. Check it out at the Stuff to Scrap store!
This page seems like a perfect back to school quick page. Doesn’t the green color remind you of those old chalkboards?!
Here is my layout for my scrapbook with the same kit.
This was the first time Jeremy had ever gone skiing. I remember I really wanted him to like it, so I made sure we got him all of the “cool” skiing apparel.
It was a gorgeous day (I skied in just a polo shirt during the day!) and we had the best time. I jotted some words to remind me of the day on the top right of the page. Enjoy—thanks for looking! : )
Fun news!
I’ve been selected to join the Digi-Designs creative team! (Yippee!)
I’m super-excited and a little nervous (there is a little bit of a learning curve involved with all the team responsibilities) but all-in-all, I think it’s going to be a blast. I love to design and it’ll be fun sharing my creations with other scrapbookers like me! Wahooo!
